This week at Google I/O, Google showed that it is firmly in their agentic Gemini era — moving beyond AI that just answers questions, to AI that takes action on your behalf.
The best measure of this progress is how people and builders are actually using our products. AI Mode in Search has surpassed 1 billion monthly active users, with queries doubling every quarter. In that same time, the Gemini app has skyrocketed to more than 900 million monthly users. And on the platform side, more than 8.5 million developers are now building new apps and experiences with our models every single month.
The company is building on this momentum to unlock latent productivity and creativity bringing natural, conversational AI to more products and form factors:
- People come to YouTube with a lot of questions. Ask YouTube entirely reimagines the experience by compiling relevant long-form videos and Shorts into interactive, structured responses, letting you jump right to the parts most relevant to you.
- To help you get things done at the speed of your voice, Docs Live lets you verbally “brain dump” your ideas while Gemini acts as a thought partner to outline, structure, and co-write the document for you.
- Google Pics, a new image creation and editing tool, is built on our latest Nano Banana model and treats every element as an individual object rather than a flat image, giving you precise creative controls to bring your exact vision to life.
- Arriving this fall, our new audio glasses with Gemini will offer spoken help privately in your ear so you can stay hands-free and heads-up.
This scale of innovation is powered by our differentiated, full-stack approach — from models and coding to entirely new agentic experiences:
- Frontier models: It launched Gemini 3.5 Flash, combining frontier intelligence with action at 4x the speed of comparable models. It also introduced Gemini Omni, our new model that creates any output from any input, starting with video.
- Agentic coding: Alphabet released Google Antigravity 2.0, expanding our agent-first development platform into a standalone desktop app where anyone can build and orchestrate autonomous AI agents.
- Proactive personal agents: The company is bringing the power of agents to consumers. Gemini Spark is your new 24/7 personal agent; Daily Brief provides an actionable morning digest; and Search is getting background information agents, custom generative UI, and an intelligent Universal Cart.
As Google ushers in this agentic era, building trust and pushing the boundaries of discovery remain our top priorities. To help people confidently navigate the web, Google is bringing SynthID and C2PA verification to Search, Chrome, and the Gemini app. It is also deploying DeepMind’s CodeMender agent to secure our platforms, and launching Gemini for Science to give researchers the AI-powered tools they need to accelerate their work.
The business is excited to see how this will unlock new ways to accelerate our mission and transform our products to be radically more helpful, for everyone everywhere. You can see everything announced here.
And the momentum continues today as Alphabet kicked off Google Marketing Live, where it’ll share more about how these AI advancements will unlock new possibilities for businesses and advertisers.
