Slack has announced 30+ new capabilities that take Slackbot from a personal agent to the ultimate teammate. While AI at work is still mostly “single-player” – one person, one tool, one conversation at a time – Slackbot creates shared intelligence by living where work already happens.
Slackbot is always-on and deeply knowledgeable about every facet of a business, combining powerful AI reasoning with full awareness of an organisation’s channels, conversations, files, and history. Key capabilities launched today include:
-
Meeting Intelligence that Acts: Slackbot listens in the background of meetings, summarises decisions, and delivers a structured summary the moment the call ends. Because it is natively connected to Salesforce, it can update opportunities and log next steps in the CRM without anyone typing a single thing.
-
Desktop-Wide Intelligence: Slackbot moves across the desktop with the user, understanding the context of whatever is on the screen to summarise documents or draft follow-ups.
-
Reusable AI-Skills: Teams can define a task once – the inputs, steps, and exact output – and Slackbot will recognise when a prompt matches that skill and apply it automatically.
-
Single Interface for Every Agent: As a new MCP client, Slackbot can route work to Agentforce, 2,600+ apps in the Slack Marketplace, and 6,000+ Salesforce apps. Employees never need to know which system handles which task; they just ask, and Slackbot finds the right path.
-
Native CRM for Small Businesses: Slackbot now includes native customer management that automatically keeps deals, contacts, and call notes up to date automatically by reading channels.
-
The Conversational Interface for Salesforce: Users can now research accounts, update opportunities, and trigger cross-functional workflows through conversation, without opening a single Salesforce application.
-
New Skills: Deep research and voice input, extend Slackbot’s capabilities across every role. Shareable prompts let anyone save and share their best instructions with teammates. And with memory, Slackbot now learns how you work: your preferences, your workflows, your shortcuts — getting sharper every time you use it.
The Impact: Slackbot is already on track to become the fastest adopted feature in Salesforce history. Customers like Asymbl, Engine, and reMarkable report that employees are saving up to 90 minutes a day. Inside Salesforce, teams are saving up to 20 hours a week.
Starting in April, Slack will open access to users on Free and Pro plans with a set of included conversations to experience on Slackbot firsthand.
