Huawei’s Mobile Cloud enables users of HUAWEI’s smart mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) to do things like backup and restore their data and phone settings wirelessly, synchronise and easily transfer data across their Huawei mobile devices, as well as store and access files safely from anywhere, any time, using any of their smart mobile devices or computer. It comes baked into HUAWEI smart mobile devices and Huawei Mobile Cloud users receive 5 GB worth of free cloud storage for this service, with various tiered paid (subscription) options also available.
Your photo album in the cloud
Huawei Mobile Cloud allows you to free your inner shutterbug by syncing your photos and video memories (Gallery), which will save all of your images and videos to the cloud, meaning whether you capture these memories via your smartphone, foldable, or tablet, your photos and videos will be updated across all of your devices.
Working remotely
If you are working, Huawei Mobile Cloud enables you to sync your docs across your devices, so you can access them from any device, any time, anywhere you have access to an online connection. You can create and edit text documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and annotate PDFs from any of your devices and these updates and changes will be synced and accessible from your laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone. Moreover, these documents will be fully encrypted to keep them secure and not just up to date.
What is lost, can be more easily found
If your device is stolen or you lose it, you can also tap into the power of this service to use Find Device to see your device’s location and make it sound a tone so you can find it easier (even if it was put on silent mode). If you still can’t spot it, you can remotely put it into lost mode or wipe its data, so you don’t have to worry about it falling into the wrong hands, which is handy for work-issued devices with professional data on them.
Priced competitively
All of these swanky features and convenience does have a free tier (5GB), but students in particular can opt for the 50 GB tier at a very affordable R14.99 per month. Alternatively, there is the 200 GB tier at R44.99 and 2 TB (2000 GB) tier at R149.99, with all of these tiers being priced highly competitively against competing online storage offerings from Apple and Google. Apple’s 2TB iCloud tier for instance goes for R199.99 per month whilst Google’s 2TB Google One tier is R159 and 5TB tier is R399 p/m.
