The next app ecosystem element we are looking at is HUAWEI’s AppGallery, which like Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store allows users of HUAWEI’s smart mobile devices to access a large selection of mobile apps. Whether it is doing your banking through the Standard Bank or FNB apps or living your best and fittest life by using the apps like the ’30 Day Fitness Challenge, or using the power of mobility to run your startup thanks to apps like the ‘EZorbis – Entrepreneur Risk Analysis’ app.
HUAWEI has invested quite a lot within AppGallery, making it the third biggest mobile app front with plenty of South Africa’s favourite and most downloaded apps making the cut. The layout of AppGallery makes it pretty easy to use and navigate, with handy sections such as Editor’s recommendations and Must-haves. AppGallery gives users access to the most popular international apps across 18 categories, ranging from navigation and transport, entertainment, social media, lifestyle, news, and shopping, among others. It is already available in more than 170 countries and regions with more than 580 million monthly active users since 2022.
Moreover, the diverse selection of apps that already cover most aspects of digital life has enabled this app front to cross the 432 billion milestone in terms of app downloads way back in 2021. It is also worth noting that the selection is not only rapidly expanding, but HUAWEI partnered with 5.4 million registered developers globally, including in South Africa and across the rest of the continent, in order to create one-of-a-kind experiences that cater to every lifestyle, culture, and location with exclusive apps for AppGallery.
