Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) is excited to announce its participation in the highly anticipated NAAMSA AutoWeek 2025, taking place from 1-3 October in Gqeberha. This flagship event brings together key stakeholders from across the automotive value chain to shape the future of mobility and industrial development in South Africa.

As a leading force in the local automotive sector, Andrew Kirby, President and CEO of Toyota South Africa Motors, will deliver an expert keynote address and participate in a panel discussion on the theme: “The South African Automotive Industry as a Catalyst for Re-industrialisation.” This session will explore how the industry can drive inclusive economic growth, job creation and sustainable manufacturing.

In the lead-up to the event, TSAM will take part in a three-day industry-wide New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Roadtrip, showcasing its leadership in sustainable mobility. Featured models include the locally manufactured Corolla Cross Hybrid, a symbol of Toyota’s investment in green technology and local production. The Lexus RX Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) will represent the brand’s premium electrification strategy. These vehicles demonstrate Toyota’s commitment to reducing emissions while delivering performance and reliability.

TSAM will also participate in the Auto Innovation Exhibition with three main stands which will feature a dynamic display of vehicles and initiatives. Toyota, Lexus and Hino will display various models including the bZ4x, Corolla Cross Hybrid, Hilux Legend 55, Lexus RX and the Dutro Z EV.

The Skills Development stand has been designed to inspire and educate young talent about careers in the automotive industry through interactive experiences and training insights. This initiative aligns with Toyota’s long-standing focus on sustainable youth empowerment and skills development – setting the stage for the future of mobility. Together with graduates from the Toyota Manufacturing Academy (TMA), the stand will showcase how TSAM is cultivating a thriving talent pipeline for the future of South Africa and the automotive world. Visitors can look forward to a presentation of a groundbreaking thermal energy project by TMA graduates – a cutting-edge initiative which aligns with Toyota’s global vision for carbon neutrality.
