Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s (FCA) has announced the local availability of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Race Edition II. Only 19 of these limited-edition versions, which packs upgraded components from the MOPAR accessories range, will be available to South African buyers from September onwards.
Graham Eagle, Chief Executive Officer for FCA South Africa: “The Alfa Romeo Giulia QV turned the performance saloon car segment on its head, when it was launched internationally in 2015. The brand went on to offer the ‘Race Edition’ as a salute to this new benchmark, back in 2016. The new Giulia Race Edition II serves as a continuation of the brand’s philosophy to offer the best to its discerning clients.
Under the bonnet of the Giulia Race Edition II resides a Ferrari-tuned 2.9 litre V6 Biturbo that produces a whopping 375 kW at 6500 RPM and 600 Nm of torque from as low as 2500 RPM. This is enough power to accelerate the sports car from standstill to 100 km/h in a mere 3,9 seconds on to a top speed of 307 km/h. All of this whilst delivering fuel consumption figures of 8,2 litres per 100 km on a combined cycle (mixed town and highway driving).
In addition to the standard Alfa Romeo Giulia QV specification, the Giulia Race Edition II boasts carbon fibre Sports Seats, coloured brake callipers, Harmon Kardon sound system, 19″ Quadrifoglio wheels, limited edition numbering decal, carbon fibre rear view mirror covers, and carbon fibre sill scuff plate with illuminated ‘Alfa Romeo’ branding.
“The Quadrifolglio Verde (Green Cloverleaf) badge has adorned racing cars and the high-performance road-going versions of the Alfa Romeo brand since 1923. It has come to represent the best that Alfa Romeo has to offer,” concludes Eagle.
The recommended retail price of the highly exclusive Alfa Romeo Giulia Race Edition II is R1 550 000.
