TECNO’s Investment Beyond Tech for Brighter Futures

It’s been a busy past two weeks for TECNO, with the innovative technology brand involved with several community events involving youth empowerment, wellness, and road safety.

Recognising and Rewarding Top Performing Students

First up was the 2025 Mayoral Excellence Awards, an event arranged and driven by the INkosi uMtubatuba Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal. This initiative recognised and rewarded the top performing matric learners, teachers, and schools in the municipality; honouring and celebrating their incredible achievements.

TECNO handed out a laptop bag filled with goodies to the 14 top performing students, with the top three students also receiving a SPARK 20 Pro smartphone. This device will assist them in their continued academics or in the working world with its wide array of smart functions and capabilities. TECNO also recognises and touts the importance of education, youth skills development, and empowering communities, and is looking to further play its part in contributing to these.

School Visits with Inkabi Records

In collaboration with Big Zulu’s music record label Inkabi Records, TECNO visited four schools in Gauteng. These were Glenbrack High in Alberton, Dinwidee High in Germiston, Germiston High in Germiston, and Trinity House in Glenvista.

Promoting Wellness at Vodacom World

The TECNO team was out in force at Spirit of Vodacom Day, which took place at Vodacom World in Midrand. With the theme of Integrating Wellbeing into Everyday Culture, this day is designed to educate everyone at Vodacom World about the brands found there, as well as the benefits of working there. TECNO wanted to celebrate with its valuable partner, Vodacom, and share the love with everyone there.

Throughout the event, the TECNO exhibition space was a buzzing hive of excitement, drawing a steady stream of eager visitors who couldn’t resist the thrill of the spin-the-wheel competition. The stand hummed with energy as participants dove into TECNO brochures, studying device details to answer questions and unlock their shot at spinning the wheel for a chance to win. Success meant selecting a balloon to pop, each burst delivering the chance to walk away with a TECNO giftbox that kept the crowd coming back for more.

Reimagining Road Safety

The Transport Forum’s latest Road Safety Summit was looking to bring to the forefront

discussions around safer roads in South Africa. As an event sponsor, TECNO was proud to be part of an event that aims to tackle the pressing issues around road safety, introducing technology to aid this initiative as well as other avenues that can be explored to address such issues.

Delegates at the event were gifted with a TECNO laptop bag filled with goodies, and got the chance to experience TECNO’s innovative tech at a hands-on exhibition area.

The TECNO team has also recently been on the ground at shopping malls and campuses, engaging with their fans. The University of Limpopo and Jubilee Mall in Hammanskraal were visited and these activations will continue throughout the year to meet and engage with TECNO’s fans.
