The South African Music Awards (SAMAs) partnered with global premium smartphone brand, TECNO to present the much-coveted categories; Music Video of the Year and Record of the Year at the 2022 SAMAs.
The award show which recognises and celebrates South Africa’s diverse musical talent took place at Sun City, North West on Sunday, 28 August 2022.
TECNO and renowned DJ and media personality DJ Zinhle had the pleasure of presenting the Record of the Year category, which is a public voting category. This illustrious award was received by Amapiano artist Musa Keys for his hit song Vula Mlomo featuring Sir Trill and Nobantu Vilakazi.

Actress Zola Nombona and TV personality Luthando LootLove Shosha presented the TECNO Music Video of the Year category which was won by one of South Africa’s biggest music sensations Makhadzi for Ghanama featuring Prince Benza.
The global smartphone brand also gave the South African market a sneak peek of its soon-to-be-launched CAMON 19 PRO 5G which was used at the SAMAs 2022 TECNO 360 Camera booth, capturing the red-carpet experience.
TECNO also collaborated with TikTok influencer and content creator Sipho Alphi Mkhwanazi who captured the red carpet behind-the-scenes content at the award show using the CAMON 19 PRO 5G.
