Acer’s Halo Smart Speaker is a compact, portable, and capable smart speaker that you can place in any room in your house (or carry from room to room) to experience the DTS Sound, 360° audio projection while consuming media like your favourite music or podcast, or employ the dual far-field mics to call upon Google Assistant to find out if your team made it through to the next round of the NBA playoffs for instance (Go Lakers).
It also boasts a customisable LED dot display to impart some of your own style and taste to the device, with the accompanying RGB-lit base also adding a stylish flair that can create a strobe light effect for your favourite dance tunes or provide a warm glow for those Netflix and chill sessions during these cold wintery evening.
To ensure optimal, premium sound the Halo Swing is equipped with a neodymium magnet and rubber enclosing that helps create more space within the speaker to deliver a deep, heavy bass and accurate mid-range vocals. Furthermore, its 20 mm tweeter uses a silk-covered soft-dome design, which Acer says is ideal to use for crisp, clear vocals and high-frequency sound, such as instrumental music and we can attest to that.
This immersive sound able to fill a room does come at a premium price though, with local retailers such as selling it for north of R5500, meaning you could even get two HomePod mini’s (1st gen) from the iStore for that – but on the Windows/Android/Google front we would still highly recommend it.
