Pay@, Southern Africa’s leading payment solutions provider has launched https://www.paythat.co.za, a new and more convenient way for motorists to pay their traffic fines following the appointment of Pay@ by the City of Cape Town as it new online and retailer third-party service provider for fine payments from the 1 July 2022.

Motorists can simply go to the platform and enter the traffic notice number. The platform will pull all the relevant information about the fine including details of the offense and where it took place. If the offender has a warrant, this will be shown and the client will need to register and enter their details for receipting purposes once payment is made, which will be sent via email and can be used as proof should the motorist be summoned to court.

However, should the motorist not have any warrants, there is no need to register, and payments can be done easily online. Payments can be processed via card, EFT or through third-party apps like Masterpass, SnapScan or Zapper.

Motorists also have the option to pay traffic fines at selected retailers using card or cash. Fines issued before the 1 July can be paid at selected SPAR outlets. Fines issued from 1 July can be paid at selected SPAR stores, Ackermans, Builder’s Warehouse, Game, Makro, PEP and Pick n Pay as well as at Shoprite / Checker Money Market kiosks from the 1 August 2022 and on their website.

“Pay@ is in a unique position to offer traffic fine payment solutions with the largest payment network in South Africa allowing anyone to make payments easily and our ability to ensure all transaction are fully reconcilable.” says Charlie Goodrick, Pay@’s Customer Relationship Manager for City of Cape Town.

One of the differences and key benefits for clients is that previously, clients using the third-party service providers would be charged a service fee for payments, whereas now, clients using Pay@ only pay for what they see.

Clients, however, do have the option to register their details on the safe and secure platform and once their payment has been processed, will receive an email notification.

Innovations in the current payment space will continue to emerge, providing consumers with more ways to reach their clients and increase the convenience and efficiency of the front-end payment process.
