Nissan South Africa is once again breaking ground with the launch of the New Model Year X-Trail and the exclusive Magnite Kuro Black Edition. This continues a year defined by major launches following the introduction of the powerful and rugged PRO-4X Warrior by Premcar and Stealth variants to the beloved Navara range, as well as the versatile Magnite Move panel van which is already on the road.

This latest wave of launches supports Nissan’s long-standing commitment to the country, underpinned by more than 60 years of local presence. With a comprehensive product plan in motion, the company continues to invest in bringing new models to market that meet the evolving needs of South African drivers while supporting the growth of the local automotive industry.

“With this string of new industry-leading arrivals, Nissan is placing more choice and buying power in the hands of South African across every major car segment,” explains Maciej Klenkiewicz, Managing Director for Nissan South Africa and Independent Markets Africa (IMA). “

“From tough double cabs to light commercial solutions and stylish compact SUVs, we’re steadily expanding the brand’s offerings to cover both lifestyle and business needs,”

The latest additions are no exception. The New Model Year X-Trail brings executive-tier comfort, family-centred practicality, and advanced technology, while the Kuro offers sense of exclusivity and prestige to the Magnite range.

Striking an edge with the bold new Magnite Kuro

The Nissan Magnite has become one of South Africa’s most sought-after compact SUVs. Based on the N-Connect trim, the limited-edition Kuro is launching with a select number of units across South Africa, and swaps chrome and silver finishes for black accents across the exterior, including roof rails, skid plates, grille inserts, and alloy wheels. A unique black Kuro badge completes the look and makes the powerful compact SUV a standout on the road.

The interior continues the jet-black styling with a dark roof liner, gloss-black dashboard and steering wheel inserts, black fabric trims, synthetic-leather seats, and a wireless charging pad.

The Magnite Kuro is powered by Nissan’s HRA0 1.0-litre turbocharged engine, paired with an X-Tronic CVT. This combination makes for smoother power delivery and confident acceleration for city driving.

Practical features include a tight 5-metre turning radius for easy manoeuvring in traffic, cruise control for relaxed highway driving, hill start assist for stability on inclines, Wireless Mobile phone Charger, and LED Headlamps. Safety systems such as ABS with EBD and vehicle dynamic control come standard, helping drivers manage sudden stops, rough roads, and sharp curves.

The broader Magnite range has already demonstrated its safety credentials, having achieved a 5-star Global NCAP rating for adult occupants – the first South African car to do so under the latest international protocols.
