Fujifilm Corporation has launched the X-T100 entry-level addition to the company’s highly successful X Series range of mirrorless digital cameras in South Africa.

Sporting a retro and stylish design, the Fujifilm X-T100 offers a host of features including a tilting rear LCD touchscreen, the latest built-in wireless and Bluetooth technology for seamless image transfer, and an extended battery life of 430 frames. Importantly, the camera also includes a high magnification electronic viewfinder that allows photographers to see exactly what they are capturing.

Tilting LCD Monitor and EVF

The newly introduced three-way tilting 3″ TFT LCD monitor (1,040K-dot) on the X-T100 can extend all the way outwards, helping to easily compose self-portraits. This tilting LCD monitor makes the Fujifilm X-T100 a boon for vloggers, with the camera able to record 4K (3840×2160) as well as Full HD (1920×1080) video on the fly. The screen is also touch-capable, enabling users to, for example, select the focus-point on screen or to zoom in and out of images using their fingers.

New to Fujifilm’s entry-level range is a high magnification (0.62x) OLED viewfinder (2,360K-dot). Many photographers still prefer a viewfinder, with this electronic viewfinder (EVF) on the X-T100 not only allowing one to compose an image with all the important settings provided through the viewfinder, but it also displays the exact exposure of the image. The camera includes both Eye and Face detection technology for easy focusing.

More for less

Light and easy to manage, the X-T100 weighs just 448g with an anodized coating aluminium top cover. The camera boasts a powerful 24.2 megapixel APS-C size sensor with primary colour filter, equipped with a phase detection autofocus system, while the newly developed autofocus algorithm offering faster and precise focusing. Combined with Fujifilm’s renowned straight-out-of-camera image quality and the unique Film Simulation Modes, the X-T100 is an affordable companion for everyday photography.

To help deal with low light situations, the X-T100 offers ISO from 200 up to 12500, with an extended output of 51200. It can also capture six images a second for action-filled sequences and includes a powerful battery capable of shooting 430 frames per charge. In addition, the various setting can be adjusted quickly and easily with one-step operation via the function dial, exposure compensation dial, or touch-and-flick function on rear LCD monitor. All these features have been designed to give flexibility in photographic expressions.
