HomeChoice South Africa has chosen Oracle Cloud Applications to deliver modern shopping experiences to its more than 800,000 customers, also driving business growth with improved operational efficiency.
Dirk Oberholster, Group Technology Director for HomeChoice, explains, “We chose Oracle Cloud Applications for a number of reasons; we were looking for tools to enable a quick and accurate view of group financials, while enhancing scalability and ensuring business continuity. Oracle’s solutions aligned with our transformation strategy; refreshing our legacy systems, while being web and cloud-enabled first, with the bonus advantage that the solutions were easy to use.”
To support the company’s plans, HomeChoice has already implemented the Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud service, with Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service application soon to be deployed.
Oberholster clarifies, “With Oracle financial solutions, we’re now getting a much quicker, reliable view of group numbers and can look at reporting structures. The system is also fantastic for customisation, so internal and analytical reporting is slicker and more dynamic.”
Andre Sousa, ERP & ERPM Territory Account Manager for Oracle South Africa says, “Agility is critical to a business’s ability to respond to rapid changes and growth. Our partnership with HomeChoice demonstrates our capabilities in supporting their modernisation strategies. Oracle’s EPM solution, enables HomeChoice to organise mission-critical data in ways that enable their technology-driven approach to benefit both the organisation and its customers.”
With the new initiative, HomeChoice will implement the Oracle Commerce Cloud solution; making it one of the first such implementations in the country. The move is in line with the company’s pioneering approach towards delivering a unique user experience.
Oberholster explains, “Greater efficiencies in the back end may not have obvious benefits for our customer, but greater continuity and accuracy behind the scenes allows us to deliver a cutting-edge customer experience. Cloud systems inject a new level of swiftness to our processes, enhancing insights to make better decisions that benefit customers. In a fiercely competitive market, where customers can walk away from the purchase and go elsewhere at any point, this is a major business advantage.”
Oberholster adds, “To lead, you need to take risks. We may be the first to go live with Oracle Commerce Cloud in South Africa, but it fits our strategy. Sustainable and scalable, we’re not going to outgrow the Oracle system, ensuring we get the best, not only today but in the future too.”
