Hyundai Automotive South Africa is making global golfing history by affording Professional and Amateur golf players to compete side-by-side for precision and prestige, at its inaugural 2025 Hyundai Open which takes place at Ebotse Links Golf Course, Benoni from 6-9 November 2025.

In a global first, the ‘Win A Car for Closest to the Pin Challenge’ during Round 4 of the tournament, either a professional player or one of three pre-selected amateur golfers who lands their ball closest to the pin at Hole 11, will walk away not just with bragging rights, but with a brand-new Hyundai EXTER.

The selection of the three amateur golfers was based on a 2025 Hyundai Open Beat the Pro Challenge which ran from 31 January 2025 to 16 February 2025.  The Terms & Conditions included filling out an online entry form, be a South African citizens or permanent resident in the Republic of South Africa, be an amateur golfers, be 18 years or older as well as have a valid driver’s license.

“Golf has always been about precision, focus and performance; qualities that resonate deeply with Hyundai’s brand philosophy,” said Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa.  “With this innovation, we decided to raise the stakes by blending professional and amateur play in a single, high-pressure test of accuracy, all under official tournament conditions.”

To further supplement the sponsorship, the winner of the 2025 Hyundai Open wins a brand-new Hyundai PALISADE to drive for a full year.  Furthermore, in Rounds 3 and 4 of the four-day tournament, any professional golfer who scores an eagle in both rounds, will be entered into a lucky draw to win a brand-new Hyundai ALCAZAR for a year.

“Our five-year association with The Sunshine Tour, through being the main supplier of transport at previous tour events resulted in significant corporate brand exposure for our vehicles.  Based on this success, we decided to become a full tournament name sponsor of the 2025 Hyundai Open,” added Anderson.

Whilst the attention is on the fairways, non-playing guests and spectators are not left behind.  Hyundai Automotive South Africa is strategically using this tournament to immerse spectators with its premium brands, including the SANTA FEs, PALISADEs, TUCSONs, ALCAZARs as well as the STARIAs.
