The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Aura Edition Gen 9 is Lenovo’s latest attempt to redefine what a premium ultrabook should feel like, and it makes a strong case for itself. At just 13.9mm thin and weighing 1.46kg, it’s a machine that slips into your bag with ease but still carries enough muscle to handle demanding workloads. Powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 7 256V processor, it delivers up to 4.8GHz turbo speeds and integrates an NPU capable of over 40 TOPS, which means it’s not just built for today’s productivity but also for the AI‑driven workflows of tomorrow.
The 15.3‑inch PureSight Pro touchscreen is a standout feature, offering 2.8K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and colour accuracy that hits both sRGB and P3 standards with Delta E<1 precision. For creatives and professionals, this display is more than a panel — it’s a canvas. Dolby Atmos quad speakers and an FHD IR webcam round out the multimedia experience, while Wi‑Fi 7 and Thunderbolt 4 ports ensure future‑proof connectivity.
Battery life is handled by a 70Wh unit, paired with 65W USB‑C fast charging, giving you all‑day stamina with quick top‑ups. The build itself is magnesium alloy finished in Luna Grey, with military‑grade toughness and eco‑credentials like carbon‑neutral certification and recycled materials. Lenovo has also layered in thoughtful touches such as Shield Mode for privacy alerts, Smart Share for phone syncing, and Wellness Mode to protect your eyes and posture.
Local buyers will find it listed at Evetech for R29,999, discounted from R35,999, which positions it firmly in the premium bracket. That price tag can be softened a bit at retailer level with some local stores either offering deals or bundled extras such as a gaming backpack and Promate TWS earbuds in the case of Evestech for example, but ultimately you’re paying for a machine that balances portability, performance, and prestige.
In use, the Yoga Slim 7 feels like a partner rather than just a tool. It anticipates the needs of professionals who want AI‑ready horsepower, creatives who demand colour accuracy, and executives who value design and sustainability. Lenovo has managed to deliver a laptop that is sleek, powerful, and socially conscious — a rare trifecta in the ultrabook space. For South Africans looking for a premium Copilot+ PC that can keep pace with both work and lifestyle, the Yoga Slim 7 Aura Edition Gen 9 is a compelling choice.
