Travelport, a leading technology company serving the global travel industry, today announced the appointment of Adrian Roodt as Country Manager, Southern Africa, effective Monday 2 December.
Roodt joins Travelport from Computicket, where he spent 18 years split over two tenures. During his time with the company he held several leadership roles including, most recently, Head of Travel, Sales and New Business Development. Roodt has also held roles including Chief Operating Officer at RealTime Travel Connections and founded a consultancy called 7 Pillars Business Consulting.
At Travelport, Roodt will be responsible for leading the company’s operations across South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland. He will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and report into Mark Meehan, Travelport’s Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
Roodt replaces Claudette Thorne, who will take on a new role at Travelport, leading business development and commercial support for the company’s operators across the Middle East and Africa. She will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and also report into Mark Meehan.
