Watching the gorgeous Ruby Rose in any movie role has inspired women to want to sing acapella, dominate the action-thriller scene as the ‘token tough chick’, or clothe themselves in tattoos. The Autralian actress and model as Ali in The Doorman proves no different and lands in cinema on 09 October 2020.
Directed by Award-winning Japanese director Ryûhei Kitamura, The Doorman tells the story of an officer in the Marines, Ali (Ruby Rose) who has faced a series of traumatic events while serving her country and returns home looking for an opportunity to heal and start over. She takes a job as a doorman in a historic, New York City apartment block. A series of events unfold, and Ali finds herself facing dangerous mercenaries who are determined to retrieve precious art hidden in the walls of the historic building who are prepared to destroy everything and anything that stands in their way of making this possible.
Ruby Rose praises Ryûhei for his amazing work in The Doorman saying, “Ryûhei is incredible with the action scenes and so were our stunt coordinators.” Rose believes the action scenes in the film are next level but she highlights how much fun the cast had shooting them, “especially in all the different locations we got to play in and the mixture of martial arts, weapon training, and the amount of physical hand-to-hand combat.”
The action-thriller is not short of big names in the film industry, and features legendary French actor, Jean Reno (Leon: The Professional), U.K. actor Rupert Evans, Norwegian actor Aksel Hennie , U.S. actor Julian Feder, Japanese actor Hideaki Ito and Danish actor David Sakurai.
