Nine South African accounting and app leaders have been shortlisted across three categories for the prestigious 2021 UK & EMEA Xero Awards. The annual Xero Awards are an opportunity to honour and reward South Africa’s community of accountants, bookkeepers and app partners for their hard work and dedication.
This year has been extremely challenging for accountants. They’ve adapted fast and stepped up to support small businesses struggling with the impact of Covid-19. Their ongoing support and guidance will be crucial to rebuilding South Africa’s economy, which is why it’s more important than ever to recognise and celebrate the role they’ve played.
For the first time, the finalists for the UK, Ireland and South Africa were live-streamed from LinkedIn hosted by Xero’s UK & EMEA Managing Director Gary Turner. The South African firms announced as finalists for the 2021 Xero Awards are:
Xero Partner of the Year
Emerging Firm of the Year
App Partner of the Year
Colin Timmis, Xero South Africa General Country Manager and professional accountant said: “This years’ awards are more important than ever. I’ve been blown away by the way our accounting and app community has stepped up to help small businesses during this extremely difficult time. We’ve seen our partners going above and beyond, from guiding businesses through cash flow management and business continuity planning, to offering emotional support.
“They are the unsung heroes of the pandemic, which is why I’m so happy we get to recognise all the hard work and hours that have gone into supporting small businesses and our wider economy this year.”
A judging panel of Xero leaders shortlisted the finalists. For the first time, the winners across the UK, Ireland and South Africa will be announced during a virtual ceremony on 3rd March 2021. You can find out more about Xero’s 2021 Awards here.
