Sage, the market leader in cloud business management solutions, today announced the release of VAT eFiling for Sage Business Cloud Accountants Edition, available to all accountants. One of the most significant pain points for accountants is manual VAT submissions. But automated VAT 201 revolutionises submissions, aiding Sage’s objective of streamlining compliance and reducing the need for manual data entry for its accountants and their customers.

Digital submissions will enable accountants to easily prepare, submit and track their VAT 201 declarations to SARS eFiling without leaving the Sage Accounting solution. It allows accountants to manage their small business customers from one central location, which increases efficiency, reduces admin, uses fewer resources, and minimises errors.

Tania Malan, AGA (SA) at Donna HD Chartered Accountants, one of the early adopters, says: “We will definitely be using the submission platform. It will avoid incorrect submissions and logging in on eFiling to submit. Furthermore, it’s user friendly, and our repetitive tasks can now keep up with the ever-changing technological advancements.”

Viresh Harduth, VP, Small Business: Africa and Middle East at Sage, says: “We are always looking for ways to automate more processes and help accountants use their time more effectively so they can spend more time advising customers and growing their practices. Through streamlining VAT submissions, we save accountants time while improving the accuracy of a critical compliance process.

“In close collaboration with tax authorities worldwide, Sage is at the forefront of the global shift towards the digitisation of tax. As we remove more manual processes from compliance, we make it faster and easier for accountants and businesses to file submissions.”

The flexibility of the Sage Business Cloud environment allows accountants and small businesses to automate multiple, mundane administrative tasks on demand and via the cloud. They can, for example, automate data capturing using AutoEntry, automate bank feeds thanks to partnerships like Sage’s FNB direct bank feed, and now connect to compliance capabilities that ensure VAT submissions are completed on time and in accordance with the latest local regulations.
