Corporate teams will attempt to emulate the Cheetah’s speed when they pit their driving skills against each other at the 11th annual Charity Cheetah Karting Day which takes place at the Zwartkops Karting track on Sunday 13 October in aid of the fastest animal on land. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles South Africa (FCA) has let their most talented team members loose for the day in aid of the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre.

“With such a rich racing heritage in our Alfa Romeo, Abarth brands and our Jeep brand enabling customers to conquer the great outdoors, this event poses the ideal opportunity for our passionate motoring team to demonstrate their skills for a good cause,” said Graham Eagle, Managing Director of FCA South Africa.

FCA will be entering three teams, and have their eyes set on targeting the top step of the podium. “Some of our team members are real petrolheads and quite useful behind the wheel with professional and amateur racing experience under their belts,” says Eagle. “You can never take the competitor out of a racing driver, but even if we finish last, the real winner will be Cheetah conservation and we’ll have had a lot of fun doing it.”

Another two teams from head office will complete the FCA starting line-up, in equal part reinforcing their own commitment to the business in South Africa and, by extension, to improving the brand experience in the local market. “It’s a wonderful way to connect our international participation in Formula One with Alfa Romeo and being locally relevant by contributing to conservation,” concluded Eagle.
