Acer Africa is thrilled to announce the appointment of seasoned Sales Executive and local IT industry heavyweight, De Villiers Wolhuter as their new Commercial and SADC Lead based at Acer’s Head office in Sunninghill, Johannesburg.

De Villiers joins a powerhouse team to drive the commercial business both locally and within the Southern African Development Community. He will be responsible for negotiating and driving business growth across Acer’s Commercial product range, including their Chromebook portfolio.

As an industry legend in the IT business development space, having worked for the likes of Pinnacle, spearheading business growth in the financial, banking and insurance sectors for Bytes Managed Services, and developing opportunities for Digital Generation – a provider of custom-made ICT solutions, De Villiers is no stranger to the pace at which digital and technology transformation is evolving every day. “To balance a specific skill-set with the needs of this 4th Industrial Revolution of our digital age, businesses need to look beyond a list of qualifications and focus more on inter-personal know-how that can close the sales loop,” says Paul Collins, Country Manager for Acer Middle East, Africa and ROA. “With De Villiers’s extensive experience specifically in negotiation with a focus on building mutually beneficial client relationships and his ability to effectively manage a support team, we’re confident De Villiers’ Commercial business strategy will nurture the areas we find success and grow in areas we have not yet explored.”

De Villiers – his 6-year old daughter’s superhero, grew up in Johannesburg, is a huge fan of the outdoors and will unlikely turn down a game of golf. Having lived on three continents during the course of his career, he has chosen the West Rand as ‘home’.
