Citroën has revealed its flagship New C5 Aircross SUV as the brand continues its international SUV offensive. With its classical SUV-shape, large 720mm diameter wheels, its robust and muscular design and its raised ground clearance of 230mm. Its unique personality and strong style choices such as its Airbump inspired lower door and wheel arch protectors and roof bars, make it 100% Citroën in its design and character. Citroën is attuned to its customers’ expectations: Inspired By You!

The new-generation SUV has a unique and assertive personality. The styling carries on the recent themes we’ve come to expect – split headlights squint from a widescreen grille and cartoonish lines abound. Black A-, B- and C- pillars are designed to create the effect of wraparound glazing and try to make the new C5 Aircross wider and sleeker.

New C5 Aircross SUV is the most comfortable model in its segment, thanks to the Citroën Advanced Comfort programme, Progressive Hydraulic Cushions suspension and Advanced Comfort seats. Hydraulic buffers at either end of the suspension setup have all but eliminated bounce from the car’s drive

New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV is designed to provide advanced soundproofing with reduced road noise and wind noise thanks to double-glazed laminated  front windows with an insulated layer, bringing its occupants exceptional, cocoon-like soundproofing. Particular attention was paid to the soundproofing of the engine compartment.

New C5 Aircross SUV also boasts unrivalled modularity with three individual sliding, folding and reclining rear seats, and best-in-class boot space.

There’s space inside for five, with the variable boot size thanks to the three, individual sliding/reclining seats in the rear – it starts at 520 litres and expands to 720 litres.

With the seats folded down there’s a cavernous 1,630 litres of space to play with. Citroen says it has aimed for maximum practicality, building in cubby holes and stowage spaces around the cabin.

The modern and high-tech New C5 Aircross is equipped with driver assistance systems.

Citroen has included a whole raft of safety systems on the car, in order to make drivers and passengers feel as secure as possible.

Tech-lovers are well catered for, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel behind the steering wheel and an 8-inch touchscreen on the dashboard covering the infotainment functions.

.Inspired by customers who do not want to sacrifice practicality and comfort, Citroën is actively moving into the C-SUV segment – an important growing segment of the market.

From today, Citroën is proud to offer a completely new experience in terms of in-car comfort and modularity in the mid-size C-SUV segment with New C5 Aircross. The changing needs of customers directly inspired this latest addition to the SUV range, further reiterating the importance of Citroën’s brand signature – “Inspired By You”.

New C5 Aircross SUV stands apart through its energetic and assertive personality. Measuring 4.50m long, the new model is robust, muscular and powerful.

Its flowing shape is punctuated with strong graphic touches such as the Airbump panels, large 720mm-diameter wheels, a ground clearance of 230mm and distinctive roof bars. The cabin gives an immediate impression of protection and space, with a large horizontal dashboard, enveloping seats, a road-dominating ride height, as well as a wide central console and the use of warm materials. Three body colours, Arctic Steel, Pearlescent White and Platinum Grey and one red colour pack option will ensure that there’s a New Citroën C5 Aircross for everyone.   It also comes with two interior ambiances with matching colours and materials, offering clarity and warmth in a trendy and premium ‘casual chic’ style.

New C5 Aircross SUV excels through its comfort and spacious interior thanks to the Citroën Advanced Comfort programme. It features two major innovations: Citroën’s new suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions and Advanced Comfort seats with their unrivalled ability to offer peerless ride comfort, the result being an outstanding experience for all passengers.

Emphasis has been placed on comfort, thanks to advanced new suspension and the firm’s ‘comfort seats’ which aim to replicate the feeling of sitting in an armchair by using different types of foam.

New C5 Aircross SUV delivers unique modularity in the segment derived from Citroën’s know-how in the world of MPVs, with three individual sliding, folding and reclining rear seats and best-in-class boot volume of 520-litres to 720-litres (depending on second row seat position). Warm ambiances synonymous with well- being are dashboard straps, door handles, and choice of colours).

With its three full width individual rear seats, New C5 Aircross SUV stands apart in its segment. They provide the same level of comfort for the three passengers in row two. Adjustable over 150 mm, they can slide back and forth to transform the cabin or boot space according to your needs. They can be tilted to offer five different positions. The seats fold down to provide a perfectly flat floor thanks to the dual-level boot floor. New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV also offers ample storage space, with its central armrest, its glove compartment, and its wide door pockets. It also boasts a large storage area at the front of the central console, equipped for wireless smartphone charging. (on the Shine model)

The C5 Aircross interior features high level, uncluttered dashboard, with a horizontal layout. The raised centre consol between the seats provide a raised comfortable driving position.

Developed in a world exclusive by Citroën, New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV offers unprecedented driving comfort via its suspension system. This innovation filters and absorbs major and minor surface unevenness to give occupants the feeling of flying smoothly over the road while ensuring outstanding poise and vitality. While conventional suspension systems comprise of a shock absorber, a spring and a mechanical stop, the Progressive Hydraulic Cushions system adds two hydraulic stops on either side, one for rebound and the other for compression. In cases of major compression and rebound, they gradually slow down movement to avoid sudden jolts.

20 patents have been taken out on the Progressive Hydraulic Cushions system, which uses hydraulic tech to provide what Citroen describes as a ‘magic carpet ride’
